MORESCO: Among the most beautiful villages in Italy
The suggestion of a place that has lived through the Middle Ages!
From our camping village you can discover one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Moresco. The town has a long history behind it, which starts from the year 1000 and reaches the present day.
A place that has lived through the Middle Ages, also becoming the subject of rivalry between Ascoli and Fermo. Enclosed within walls that have remained unchanged over the centuries, it has the appearance of a fortified village. The large castle still appears today as a guardian that stands over the surrounding countryside and houses, dominating them. Moresco is in fact surrounded by a gentle panorama of olive trees and fields, and not too far away is the blue sea.
One of the symbols of Moresco is the Heptagonal Tower, 25 meters high. If you climb to the top you can admire Monte Conero, Gran Sasso and even the coast of Albania.
Walking along the streets of the village gives emotions, a bit as if we were losing ourselves in the past. Palaces and alleys that finally meet in the square, where the church is also located.
Outside the walls, then, there is also the small sanctuary of the Madonna della Salute inside which there is the fresco of the Crucifixion created by Vincenzo Pagani.
The beautiful council hall of the village, then, contains another Pagani treasure, a large altarpiece of the Madonna.
In the summer, in particular, Moresco is animated by medieval dinners and other events, such as the local polenta con le clams festival.
Among the typical dishes, not to be missed, is ciauscolo: tender spreadable salami with an unmistakable flavour!
